# SEBIએ એશિયા પેસિફિકમાં ‘Best Conduct of Business Regulator’ એવોર્ડ જીત્યો

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)ને The Asian Banker દ્વારા એશિયા પેસિફિક ક્ષેત્રમાં “Best Conduct of Business Regulator” એવોર્ડ આપવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
આ એવોર્ડ હોંગકોંગમાં એક કાર્યક્રમ દરમિયાન SEBIના Whole Time Member કમલેશ ચંદ્ર વાર્ષ્ણેય (Kamlesh Chandra Varshney) દ્વારા પ્રાપ્ત કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
SEBIએ ઘણા મહત્ત્વપૂર્ણ પગલાં લઈને ભારતીય શેરબજારને વધુ કાર્યક્ષમ અને વિશ્વાસપાત્ર બનાવ્યું છે.
Highlights
- T+1 settlement: ભારતે તબક્કાવાર રીતે T+1 settlementની રજૂઆત કરી, જે January 2023થી સંપૂર્ણ રીતે લાગુ કરવામાં આવી.
- T+1 settlementના ફાયદા: T+1 settlement અપનાવવાથી settlement process ઝડપી બનાવી બજારની કાર્યક્ષમતા (market efficiency) અને liquidityમાં વધારો થાય છે.
- આનો હેતુ વેપાર settlements સાથે સંકળાયેલ જોખમોને ઘટાડવા અને market operationsને સુવ્યવસ્થિત કરવાનું છે.
- SEBI’s Regulatory Practices: કઠોર અમલીકરણ (rigorous enforcement) અને નવીન નિયમનકારી (innovative regulatory) પ્રથાઓ દ્વારા SEBIએ ભારતના નાણાકીય બજારોમાં વ્યવસાયના આચરણમાં નોંધપાત્ર સુધારો કર્યો છે.
- SEBIના પ્રયાસો ગ્રાહકો સાથે fair dealing સુનિશ્ચિત કરે છે અને strong market integrity જાળવી રાખે છે.

- સ્થાપના: 12 એપ્રિલ, 1992ના રોજ ‘The Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992’ની જોગવાઈઓ અનુસાર સ્થાપવામાં આવેલી ‘વૈધાનિક સંસ્થા’ (સંસદ દ્વારા સ્થાપિત બિન-બંધારણીય સંસ્થા) છે.

- અધ્યક્ષ: માધબી પુરી બુચ (Madhbi Puri Buch) (SEBIનું નેતૃત્વ કરનાર પ્રથમ મહિલા)
- SEBIએ નાણામંત્રાલય (Ministry of Finance – MoF)ની માલિકી હેઠળ ભારતમાં Securities and Commodity Markets માટેની નિયમનકારી સંસ્થા છે.

- ભારત સરકાર દ્વારા રામસર કન્વેન્શન હેઠળ નાગી પક્ષી અભયારણ્ય અને નકટી પક્ષી અભયારણ્યને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય મહત્ત્વના વેટલેન્ડ (જળસંતૃપ્ત ભૂમિ) તરીકે માન્યતા આપવામાં આવી છે.
- આ વેટલેન્ડ્સ માનવસર્જિત જળાશયો છે, જે બિહારના જમુઈ જિલ્લાની ઝાઝા ફોરેસ્ટ રેન્જમાં આવેલાં છે.
